She began her career in general practice, where she honed her clinical skills across all areas of veterinary medicine, with a continued focus on ultrasound.

After relocating to the UK, Elena expanded her expertise in CT and MRI, and since 2015, has been working on the South Coast where she obtained her Postgraduate Certificate in Small Animal Diagnostic Imaging (PgCertSADI). She was later awarded RCVS Advanced Practitioner status in this discipline.

Never one to shy away from a challenge, Elena is now furthering her clinical interests by undertaking a second Postgraduate Certificate — this time in Small Animal Cardiology (PgCertSAC).

BECKY DIXON-STUBBS

NURSE

Becky qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2020 and quickly developed a strong interest in anaesthesia and emergency care. In June 2024, she joined the South Downs Veterinary Referrals team, where she now plays a key role in supporting complex surgical and medical cases.

Becky holds a Certificate in Anaesthesia, and her calm, focused approach makes her a valuable presence in both routine and emergency procedures.

Before qualifying, Becky gained unique experience through international internships, including caring for endangered bird species in New Zealand and working with big cats at a rescue centre in Florida.

BECKY RAWLINSON

REHABILITATION

Becky graduated from Harper Adams University in 2013 and joined the SDVR team with a passion for improving the lives of pets and their families.

While she always knew she wanted to be a veterinary nurse, it was during her early career that she discovered a keen interest in orthopaedics. This led her to retrain as a Veterinary Physiotherapist, graduating in 2017 and joining the RAMP register shortly afterwards. Becky now leads our rehabilitation department, supporting post-operative patients, those with acute injuries, and pets living with chronic pain.

She understands how vulnerable both pets and their owners can feel during difficult times, and takes pride in offering comfort, reassurance, and a clear path forward.
